I was a pitcher in 1958--Henry Vinson caught. Keith Pitchford, Tommy Simmons
were among other other of the '58 grads. I pitched and played outfield
(some)--Bud Williams caught (10th grade). Billy Cash played third base and Allen
Mathews played in the outfield. Charlie Krausch also pitched. Mike Guiteriez
(sp) was the coach and Owen McCarron was a student teacher and played on the FSU
team with Dick Howser. I played at FSU (frosh) with Jack Dull (senior) and Keith
Pitchford (soph). I went into the military when I graduated, then graduate
school (Ph.D. in Sociology) and an academic career. I took what I thought was to
be a one-year temporary position at the University of British Columbia in
Vancouver, BC, Canada. Still here 35 years later. My parents remained in
Tallahassee until 1990 when they moved to Mobile.
